my babies are obsessed with tv
5 months old and already obsessed?
They will twist their bodies and turn their heads at weird angles to look at it. They will be on the play mat laying in the totally opposite direction and will contort their bodies to be able to see the tv.
Does anyone else's babies do this or do I have future couch potatoes on my hands?

My DD has been a couch potato since she was practically born.  The TV has always intrigued her and now at 8 months old she still loves to watch her cartoons on Noggin and her favorite movie "Tinkerbell" while she plays on the floor with her toys. She is interested in everything DH and I watch as well. I think the TV is just stimulating.........lots of sounds, movement, and color. To me it's just another "toy" in moderation.

DS used to do that when he was around that age... he stopped doing it a couple of months later. i told my nanny to have to TV on as little as possible when he was awake, and he eventually stopped caring when it was on. i would not worry just yet.

Emerson LOVES the lap top as well!!! She is OBSESSED with it!! We actually bought her a baby lap top toy and while we're on the computer holding her she plays with her computer while we play with ours.

We recently noticed that DD gets "glued" to the tv....and she is only 11wks old!! When we notice it, we turn it off and distract her with something else....

Samantha is the same way. I used to have the TV on in her room sometimes when I fed her, but had to stop that since she was more interested in the TV then her bottle. The TV is RARELY on during the day.

The first time that I noticed Shaylie twisting herself around to watch TV, my mom was feeding her and President Obama was on. She was absolutely glued to him. She'll watch shows on TV that DH and I are watching and I will put cartoons on for her. I love the Boomerang channel because it has cartoons that I used to watch, so we'll watch them together. She also loves to watch baseball games - especially the Mets.

DS was glued to the tv but now he plays more with his toys. if it worries you , keep the tv off during the day. we keep the tv off during the weekend as much as we can

DD is almost 3 months and loves TV! I let her watch it, though. I don't think it will hurt her to watch The Wonderpets now and again. It amuses her, and it allows me to get some things done around the house, as she isn't a big napper.

My DD loves Baby TV on Satellite..i really dont care that she watches it, makes her super happy and she is rolling, scooting, practically crawling and sitting up, figure if she just sat there, i might be worried but she looks up and laughes if she likes a show and then goes back to moving around...i dont mind my nanny putting it on for her..she has had a tough go...her first tooth is coming in and it seems to be the only thing that makes her smile some days... i bought her a swingset for outside, we put toys outside for her to play with and she goes in the pool..DD is just 6 months..figure, by the time she is walking we will have quiet time with shows here and there but i want her to be outdoors and active too...

Babies R Us...........made by V-Tech. It's yellow and blue. It's adorable. It looks like a little laptop and it even has a little mouse that controls lights on the screen. Very cute. It was like $15-20.
