My baby is sick (advice needed please)

So last night, I heard Mikayla coughing but she did not wake up or cry so I left her in her crib. This morning, I notice that there was vomit all over her crib. Chat Icon

I felt awful for her

then, just now, my MIL calls me and told me that they had just gotten home from taking Mikayla for a walk and my MIl was taking her out of the stroller. She threw up, and threw up, and threw up some more. MIl said it looked like all liquid.

I am on hold with the doctor now. Anyone else's baby sick like this

Do you think it may be due to the change of formula or the increased intake of table food? I am so worried about her, she has never been sick like this before Chat Icon

I am so sorry - I haven't experienced this (yet) so I don't know what it could be but wanted to send lots of hugs for both you and Mikayla

Re: My baby is sick (advice needed please)

thanks, apparently my doctor's office is closed for lunch Chat Icon

I will need to call back at 2pm

I told IL's to give her a bit of pedialyte (sp)

Hope that helps Chat Icon

Re: My baby is sick (advice needed please)

My DD just had this. It lasted less than 24 hours. She could not even hold down an ounce of water. We gave her pedialyte with a dropper (1 tsp.) every 10 minutes to keep her hydrated. We also held off feeding her since she threw it right back up. This gave her stomach time to settle. After a couple of hours I gave her some cheerios and a couple of ounces of pedialyte. This seemed to work. Her stomach was still sensitive the next day so we were careful with what we fed her, I also watered down the formula a little. I hope your DD feels better.Chat Icon

She would only take an ounce or 2 of pedialyte a couple of times a day. That lasted for about 2 days. After the 2nd day I added an ounce of formula to 7 ounces of pedialyte and slowly started to introduce formula. It was about a week before she was back on full formula.

Re: My baby is sick (advice needed please)

My son was throwing up from Thurs afternoon - Sat morning. I took him to the Dr on Friday and they said it was viral and to just watch and make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. He still isn't 100%. I have been feeding him only small amounts (like 2oz ever hour or so). He isn't even 3 months old, poor little guy.

Good luck!
