right now she is stable. she is still eating normally, which is the most encouraging sign.
to the AP - she got the virus from my son. it's enterovirus, which is extremely common in these months of the year. for my son it was just sniffles, a cough, and a low-grade fever, but in a newborn the symptoms are that much more severe
