Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
it definitely seems like a battle of who can be the bigggest meathead/d*ouchebag among all these grooms.
The meatball guy is such a jerk. I can't deal with his shadiness and laziness.

Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
I was watching a little last night.I still cannot believe ppl agree to be filmed and act like that. You would think you'd be on your best behavior. I mean I would be so fake on there just not to come across as trash. However the one girl Tammie, I know she's from LI. I kept thinking I knew her but my dh was adamant about never meeting her..but then it came to me, does anyone know if she works or used to work for De La Mer salon. I went there a few times a while ago and swear she was the girl cutting hair next to the woman doing my hair. She looked so much better in the salon though. Very put together. Not like she does on tv.

Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
I think they are trying to act like this in hopes of being the next jersey shore. I feel so bad for the girl marrying the meatball guy.
My DH said he was ashamed to live close enough to these people where we used the same florist at our wedding

It definitely seems like that!
The Joey & Sandra couple -- I swear that guy looks like he has crazy eyes 24/7. He just seems VERY intense all the time.
Next week's episode looks like it will be quite trash filled with Alyssa's mom getting wasted at what looks like her bachelorette party.

Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
I know one of the girls on the show from LIW. Supposedly, they made it sound like a far different show from the one they air. I know she was pretty upset about how she was portrayed.
But the show is entertaining, which is why they twist everything they say and make up stupid things for them to do. Otherwise, it'd probably be pretty boring.

Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
Tammie was cracking me up when she was at Pedestals. When she saw her centerpiece and had to walk out and back in so she can see what the guests will see. I think she's funny!
I actually like Sandra a lot better in this weeks episode. You can see she was REALLY nervous to talk to her FH. It seems like they are under a lot of stress and pressure between work, the living situation and the wedding so I felt kinda bad for her with the way he was treating her.

I don't think I would EVER sign up for a show that is a cross between Jersey Shore and Bridezillas

I do not like the way he treats her at all. I would have smacked him AND his mother for expecting me to cook as soon as I walk in the door. What is it 1950??? He says it is to be expected that she will do all the cooking and woman's work, she is in for it!

I know I will get flamed for this, but I don't know, I call it how I see it. And I don't blame anyone for their choices.
See, I don't know... I find a lot of people pull out the "editing" card or "look how I am portrayed." Everyone should know these days that reality shows exploit people, but isn't it people really exploiting themselves knowingly?
I don't buy it, personally.
The have a Facebook page with clips from the previous night's show, a blog, a website, etc.... not just the standard VH1 page that they have created for you. It seems they have branched off onto their own here.
"Would they do the show again? Yes, they said." - sounds like the portrayal doesn't bother them that much.
lastly, their first post on their personal website reads:
"For starters, we are trendsetters. We wanted to promote ourselves with a website that would inspire and keep you party ready. ... Facebook was just the beginning. This was the next phase. And like we said before, we think ahead so there’s plenty more where that came from....."
they know what they are doing and hope it becomes marketable for them. More power to them... but don't blame being "portrayed" any which way... cameras don't lie.

ITA! I just looked at their FB page. OMG!!! They are totally looking for every bit of fame they can get. And they started their own website More power to them, I don't get it, but if that's what they want, good for them. BUT if I were them I wouldn't criticize the show or VH1, it's like don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I have said this before and I will say it again.. They are acting .. I know it for a fact.. Joey's bother lives across the street from me..I went to HS with them... He has been telling me about this for a year now.. They do this all for the show.. they are even given some lines. reality is BULLSH!T.. I was on one myself.. I did a scene 10x before they got it right to air on the show.. They are being portrayed that way and they do not care because they are getting paid and they are ACTING!!!!!!!!!! Real House Wives is the most obvious!

I get they are acting, okay. But *I* would not use my MARRIAGE to make a career.
IMO they are making themselves look like jerks and their marriage look like a joke.
For ME I value my marriage to much to make a mockery of it for the sake of launching my reality TV career or whatever.
How many marriages break up on reality tv? sure they are acting but when you play wwith your marriage like that you make it vulnerable. Look at Nick &Jessica, Carmen Electra and whatever his name was , Hulk Hogan and his wife etc

You're right - that is how reality show "sets" tend to be. I believe you. I just find it annoying when the "actors" complain about being portrayed in another light, kwim?
You sign on the dotted line, they own you.

Re: My Big Friggin Wedding...
IMO, Reality TV has spawned a generation of media whores who will sell their souls to the devil for 15 minutes of fame. Honestly, I enjoy seeing these fools be portrayed as such (even though I have never watched a single show like this or Jersey shore) because they deserve it for exploiting themselves for attention. It's perfect schadenfreude.
