My Birth Story - with Pic at bottom
I've missed the boards so much and hope all is well with everybody. I still have a lot of catching up to do. But want to offer my congrats to all of the new BFP's and new Mommies and my support to those of you still pregnant. Your support and kindness helped me get through this pregnancy.
So...
DD arrived at 08.07
Here's how it went...
At about 2:00 am on Thursday the 23rd I woke up to cramping and bloody show. We started timing the "cramping" as I paced the bedroom and it was coming every 5-6 minutes. Then every 2-4 minutes, lasting longer each time. I took a hot shower, and tried to relax as DH and I tried to figure out if this was it or not.
I was siting on the bed at 6:00am and felt a "pop" and ran into the bathroom where my water broke with a HUGE gush (lucky for me almost all in toilet).
I called Dr. and we went to hospital, contracting every 2-3 minutes in rush hour traffic. Upon arrival I was 1/2cm, I had contractions intensifying all morning and at noon I was only 1cm. They gave me an epidural at 1:00 pm and I slept a bit but that relaxation helped me dilate and by 9:30pm I was at 10cm and could start pushing. I pushed for 2.5 hours, I was having major back pain and contractions were very intense. Baby got stuck at +1 station for almost an hour and her head started to swell a bit so we decided to do a c-section, at that point I was fine with it for the health of my baby and because I was exhausted. Awake for almost 24 hours, no food, only ice chips. I was actually sleeping in between contractions and pushing. The worst part of it all was when they told me to stop pushing. I never felt pain like that, at least when you are pushing it makes the contractions manageable. They got me into OR and DH suited up. At that point they upped my epidural and started surgery. Then she was here but we didn't get to see her for a little over 10 minutes. She scored 9 on her APGAR but wasn't screaming so they called in a NICU fellow and they accessed her as healthy after some suctioning and then we saw our beautiful little girl.
We are so in love with this beautiful little girl. My recovery is going better than I expected. Breast Feeding has been difficult but with the help of a great lactation consultant and my own persistence it's going well now.

Yay!!!!!! Ainsley is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I do say so myself, Ainsley is the most beautiful little girl's name EVER!
