My Birth Story...Finally with pics!
I'm sitting here holding my little angel and I can't imagine life without her. I can't believe she's almost 2 weeks already! So I started having contractions on Friday the 9th. There was no pattern and it only lasted for 2 hours. I finally fell asleep. All weekend I was have Braxton Hicks. On Sunday I woke up a cranky B*tch! I just wanted to rip someone's head off. Again, Braxton Hicks (so I thought) all day. At 9:00 I told my mom about the Braxton Hicks and she was like, I think you're in labor, let's start writing them down. I said, "Mom, they're not painful. It's nothing." So DH went down to our apartment to go to bed. We settled into bed and then it began. 11:02 was the first one. Had another one 7 minutes later. OH BOY, it was all in my back! Now I know why they say back labor is the hardest. So they were 7 minutes a part for about 30-60 minutes and then all of a sudden they started coming every 2-3 but only lasted 30-40 seconds. We called the dr. he said to wait it out if I could. So we waited another hour, I couldn't take it anymore and we headed to the hospital. Got to the hospital at around 2. Had the epidural at 3 (Thank you God!). Then I just laid in bed watching T.V. At around 7 am, I started feeling the contractions again. Nothing horrible though. I guess I was in transition. At 8:15 they had me start pushing and Madeline Rose was born at 9 on the dot. She weighed 8lbs. 6oz. and was 20 inches. I didn't need an episiotomy, but I did tear right at the very end because as she came out, she lifted her head (we can't get over her neck control already!). If you asked me that day how labor/delivery was, I would say, NEVER AGAIN! But everybody is right when they say you forget the pain. The next day when I looked at her, I thought, well that wasn't so bad...
She's 12 days old today and is up to 9lbs. 2oz. She's my little piggy. Breast feeding is going well for her and me. The weight is melting off me. I'm 10 pounds from my prepregnancy weight I want to post a pic, but I have to log onto my other computer so it might be a while. Best wishes to everybody for a great pregnancy, labor and delivery. I'm sure I'll still be chatting on this board!
