My day from h e ll (added a pic and an update)
OMG this day has been completely exhausting...
I went into work this morning, DH brings DS into school around 8.
Around 9:30, I hear the kids out on the playground. I hear one child crying/screaming. It sounded nothing like my child.
Soon the sound came closer and closer to my desk, and there stood a covered in blood RJ.
His face was destroyed. I mean it looks worse than a UFC fighter. I panic (note to everyone, never be stuck in crisis with me- I suck!) I cant find the ice, not sure what to do (clean it first? ice it first? Think- what did I learn in all of my 1st aid training?). I'm hysterical crying, because he is clearly in so much pain, and just looks awful..
Where is his beautiful face???
I got him all cleaned up, and notice his face is very swollen, including his nose. (back track RJ broke his nose back in March)
I call my ped. concerned he may have re-broken his nose. Dr. says come right on in.
Off I go to the ped. where FIL meets me.
Ped looks at him, and immed. sends me for an xray, not only of his nose but of his "cheek bone" as well. I cry a lot more.
We go straight to the radiologist, which is primarily adults. Everyone who walked past us gasped as soon as they saw RJ. (ya know the OMG what happened gasp) It was awful.
We wait forever. Rj falls asleep on my lap, and all of a sudden it feels like I peed myself.
YEP- he peed in his sleep (which he never does) I was soaked, he was soaked, the chair as well as the carpet-SOAKED.
Mind you, I hopped in FIL car, therefore all of DS changes of clothing was back at the ped. office, in my truck.
We found a diaper in IL's car- and a blanket.
People must've been like get me a phone so I can call CPS. Here this child sits with a broken, bruised and bloody face; in nothing but a diaper and a blanket.
We finally get called in. It takes 2hrs to get 4 x-rays. Rj would not stop screaming. He wouldn't cooperate. I could hear him screaming through the double doors in the waiting room.
Luckily, there was no fracture. Just internal bruising, and a really banged up face (Ill try and post some pics tonight)
I just wanna cry. He looks awful, and this weekend is his party, and it just sucks!!!
I feel like my kid is always sick or hurt... I cant win
 Im so ontop of him, how do these things keep happening????
He is now  and Im thinking about joining him!

ETA: UPDATE/PIC
Thanks everyone, thankfully he looks soooooo much better today... Here is a pic from last night (almost 12hrs later) You can see there is no more swelling and the cuts began healing fast; neosporin is working wonders-thank God!

Did he fall off some playground equipment?
Poor thing!!!

dear god. what happened to him??? did he get hurt on the playground???? my ds got hurt in school the other day.i posted about it. i went to school to find a softball sized bump on his head. i rushed him to the er thinking he had a concussion. he was fine. just looked horrible. he still has a bump and its now in that yellow stage of a black and blue. but kids heal quick and your ds will be back to new in no time. just wait and see. thank god hes ok.

What a horrible day! Hope he is feeling a little better. I hope they gave him some pain meds. Are you guys home now? If so dont forget friendly drugs delivers anything. If you guys need anything later let me know!!!!!
I feel awful...you guys cant catch a break!

He was pushing these trucks, I guess really fast, and tripped over the truck and dragged his face across the concrete side walk.
There are no longer trucks on the playground.

I am so sorry RJ got hurt so badly! I think any of us would have freaked in that situation. It will look worse before it gets better...but he'll be as cute as always!

I am so sorry. I am so glad RJ is ok. Nothing is broken thank God. I would have handled it the same way. And I am a nurse. We forget what we are supposed to do when its our own. Please let me know if I can help in anyway.

I'm so glad he's ok! I used to get upset (um, ok used to as in back in June ) about the way they looked in pictures for their birthday. It will be one of those part of growing up things he'll talk about with his friends.

I know in 25 yrs when we are gathering photos together for his wedding montage we will look at this pic and giggle...
But right now- Im not laughing

Poor RJ! What a crazy day! I hope he is feeling better soon!!!!
If it is any consolation Sienna (Randi's DD) fell out of her huge ARMADA face first and hit the concrete over the summer. She had MAJOR scraping/swelling on her face and now, a few months later, you would never know it. She has no scars, and actually 1 week after it it was beginning to look much better.
