My dog had a seizure
Last Thursday. We took him to the animal hospital. They kept him 3 nights for tests and we finally got him home yesterday. The vet said it's idiopathic epilepsy.
The only thing is now he's acting so differently. It's like he hardly recognizes us. He's not really responding to his name or any of the words he used to know. It's very upsetting to me and DH. We just want him to be back to himself.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?

My dog has epilspy ....but after his seizures he is back to normal witin a few minutes.....he is now on phenobarbathol(sorry about the spelling) and he is doing really well.....i would call the vet

This is the same with my dog. I would absolutely call the vet and tell them about the changes in your dog.

Thank you for the responses everyone Today he seems more like himself thank God. He's not 100% but better than yesterday. We just love our fur baby so much! I'm sure you all can relate!

My toy poodle started having seizures about 7mths ago. Dr. put him on potassium bromide..he seems to be doing ok. She never really diagnosed him though Well, lots of for your doggie!
