Oh no!
I was hoping to hear a happy update. Maybe you can post pictures on here and give an area where she may be. I'm so sad for you. I'll be glad to drive around a little and see if I see her around.
Kristen
Thanks everyone. I was hoping to have happy news myself. I have to go back to the pound by 4:30 to look around again. I only have these at work. I tansferred them from my picture phone. She is the reddish looking one.
(sorry they are so big)

Re: My Dog is Missing - UPDATE 7/25
Did you post pictures up around town? My cousin lost her dog a few months ago and someone saw one of the pics she posted and called her when she found Rocko.
Good luck and keep us posted. Where do you live?

Re: My Dog is Missing - UPDATE 7/25

My Husband just called and one of our dogs got out. We usually keep our 2 dogs in our dog pen while we are at work. He went home during his lunch break and Nakita was missing. (I don't know why it took him this long to call me ). He hasn't returned to work since and has been looking for her. He doesn't know how she got out. The gate hasn't been touched and there are no holes in the ground. He thinks she may have jumped on top of the dog house and unto the deck. And unfortunately our gate around our house was left open...
Hopefully someone finds her before it gets dark.
UPDATE: So I just came back from the Town of Islip Animal Shelter. I looked around and still no Nakita. We have been calling the animal hospitals, but she hasn't turned up anywhere. My husband is really worred, because we leave next Monday for vacation and he is afraid we aren't going to find her before then.

Re: My Dog is Missing - UPDATE 7/25
No news. We still haven't found her. I finished the flyers last night and have printed them out at work. Tonight when I get home I am going to put them up and distribute them. A co-worker who lives in a neighboring town said her son would put them up in her neighborhood. It was really hard making the flyers last night. I went back to the Islip Animal Shelter, no Nakita. We also checked the Town of Babylon pound today, in case she got that far, but nothing.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. In means a lot.

I was going to say to check the surrounding pounds as well, dogs can get pretty far. I had a husky who wound up at a pound like 7 miles away once when he got out.....I hope you find him, how heartbreaking

Re: My Dog is Missing - UPDATE 7/25
any news about your dog??
Okay. i gotta say something. I will probably get a lot of responses saying "you are so mean" ... but I can guarantee others are thinking it too.
You mentioned that they were in an dog pen. I am guessing it is outside. Sadly, that is not an option in this world. There are crazy people who steal dogs for experiments, dog fighting, etc. Dogs need to be supervised. They should not be outdoors alone.
For those who dis me, etc go ahead. But I can guarantee that YOU wouldn't leave your dogs outside all day.

I think you can save the soapbox for another thread. Your sermon tells me your sympathy is limited. Obviously she cares for her pets and keeping them outside is not crazy. A lecture on HER thread where she is LOOKING for her beloved dog does not help the situation. If you have to place a disclaimer in your post then maybe you should think twice about posting. If your goal is to make her feel worse then I'm sure you've succeeded. Putting a little 'go ahead and dis me' disclaimer doesn't give you license to make an 'everyone lets learn from this' speech. If my dog was taken from the daycare I keep her at then I wouldn't want lectures about how I should have checked the place more, never taken her there, etc. Your 20/20 hindsight helps no one.
I hope she finds her dog soon. And I really hope she doesn't feel worse from your preaching.

Sorry sweetie. I hope she finds her dog, but what I said is a reality.
I knew this was gonna happen. I can guarantee others felt what I wrote..
ANd a dog being taken from a daycare.... find that very unlikely.. a backyard.. yes it happens.
But you know what Mrs Red Dash.. god bless you. GOd bless everyone on this board.
Have a great nite.

I hope she finds her dog soon. And I really hope she doesn't feel worse from your preaching. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MY sympathy is limited....?? who me?? 20/20 eyesight.. I wish..oh wait it is hindsight. Putting a little 'go ahead and dis me' disclaimer doesn't give you license to make an 'everyone. I have a license to drive and to teach...are you a lawyer? ya sound like one. My goal was to make her feel worse? No just telling her and everyone else reading this that sadly you can't leave your furbabies outdoors all day.
Gee.. sympathy for animals? I find that hard to believe being everyone comes to me for help when it come to pets.... uh is that because of my background?? Must be.
Green Grass, when it comes to helping pets.. I am the queen. I do care. But I am just stating the truth. I feel awful her dog is gone.. but in my opinion.. maybe not your opinion because you leave your dog in daycare, not a doggie pen.. well a dog should not be outdoors. (does that make sense??) oh who cares.
Love ya
btw she is a real soap box Image Attachment(s):
