My dog keeps throwing up
For the past few hours Rocky keeps throwing up, but there is nothing really there, just clear saliva and a little brown stuff. I dont think he has eaten anything. He loves to eat the grass when he goes outside, but he hasn't been out since yesterday and he was fine yesterday and earlier today. I feel bad for him. I hope there is nothing really wrong with him
ETA: He also had a little diarrhea earlier and he won't stop shaking. He is only a 4 lb. yorkie. I remember seeing him drink water earlier, but I dont think he hasn't eaten or drank anything since early this afternoon.
Can I give him mylanta or a little immodium?

Re: My dog keeps throwing up -- UPDATE
So, now my other Yorkie is throwing up. So either they have a stomach virus or they are sick b/c they cannot stop eating the cat $hit out of the litter box.
Is there anything I can do to get them to stop eating the cat litter and cat $hit?

Re: My dog keeps throwing up
First of all..if they are both throwing up consistently I would call the vet. A dog throwing up once or twice is no big deal...but continuos vomiting is not a good sign. I don't think it's cat poop either. It shouldn't affect them like that.
Your yorkies are very small and it's dangerous for them to be sick for any length of time. I would check with the vet and see what they say.
As far as keeping them out of the box, with your dogs it's tough. Maybe put the litter box in a room and put a childsgate in that doorway. The cat can jump over the gate, the dogs can't. We did this with Misty...

Re: My dog keeps throwing up
What happened? Are they ok? Jasmine was throwing up a week after we got her, really sick, no water, no food. \ When they are dry heaving, there is no food in them and they need IV fluids. Good luck! I hope your babies are algiht!

Re: My dog keeps throwing up
Well they are both fine this morning. I was up late with them. They stopped throwing up and starting eating and drinking and have kept it down. If they throw up again today I will take them to the vet...
Thanks everyone!

Glad to hear they are doing better. If they continue to have diahera, cook some white rice and give that to them to eat, and maybe add some cooked chicken to it.
We did that for our little yorkie when she got sick off of eating a small mushroom.
