My FIL is driving me up the wall
He's visiting from florida. He told us he was going to stay for a couple of days. He has 3 brothers that live close by that all have their own houses, but he insisted on staying with us in our tiny apartment. Its now been 10 DAYS and he has yet to leave or make arrangements with any of his brothers to stay with them. My DH refuses to say anything to him. Our (FIL and me) relationship is all ready strained, so me saying something to him will just make it worse. But this man really has no consideration. Here are a few things I've had to deal with.
-Comes home after midnight and makes noise knowing we both have to wake up early for work the next morning.
-leaves his dirty panties in the bathroom 
-"accidentally" ate my lunch I prepared to take to work. I stocked the fridge with all kinds of food, but he helped himself.
-knows we both take showers in the morning starting at 7am but still decides to hop in the shower at 7.
-Breaks my shower head. Says nothing. My bad luck is that its stuck on "economy" and the water barely comes out.
-bought an air mattress for him because he figured he'd just crash on our couches. He's a big man and wouldnt be able to lay down, but he doesnt care. When I set up the mattress with sheets and all, he looked at it and gave me "I guess its ok"  look.
-knows we pay an arm and a leg in electric and left the AC running all day when he left the house at 11am.
-insists I park my car in the street so he can park is nicer car in my driveway.
-DH dont agree on snacks, so we have our own. Guess which ones his father perfers? Not only helped himself, but finished the bags. Again, fridge is stocked....
I'm seriously up to my wits end. 
Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm so sorry!! Hope he makes other arrangements soon because he is a very inconsiderate house guest!!

OMG Jen, seriously you are SAINT for putting up with this crap - I mean even ONE of those things would be bad enough, but ALL of them .. 
What does your husband say, or does he just not want to confront his Dad about these things at ALL? (oops I re-read, I see you said that your DH refuses to talk to him about it .. I think that might actually make me even more pizzzed off )

He doesnt want to confront him at all. He keeps saying "you know my dad". Ya I do, but I signed on for a couple of days, not TWO WEEKS!!! DH says I'm making a big deal out of nothing. He said I should be more patient. WHATEVER!!!
Did I tell you he's too lazy to deflate the bed every day? It takes up the majority of the living room space. We end up having to watch TV in our bedroom. I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own bedroom. Ugh!!

Oh no! This whole story is making me relive my weekend with my Brother... He's a nightmare... THANKFULLY I only had to deal with him for 3 days...I can't imagine TWO WEEKS!!!
I hope and pray things get better...there's nothing worst than an unwelcomed guest!

Oh, and thanks for reminding me my MIL arrives again for three weeks on Sunday. I pray she stays with DH brother for a week or two.

 Funny thing is they DONT want his company, that's why they havent invited him over and he knows it.

Sorry you have to deal w/ that, Jenn I know what you're saying, though. ILs are difficult to deal with. I had MIL staying with us for 6 months last year with maybe 2, 1 week breaks! and the year before also!
Let me know if you need to get out for a night!

I'm sorry he is making you insane. I can't imagine a grown man leaving his "skivies" in the bathroom! Gross! I hope you get some relief soon. You definitely deserve Sainthood for not confronting him, although I'm not sure why your DH won't. There is no way that a grown man (a sane one) would think that all of your FIL's actions are acceptable.
