My first and last experience with Walmart

Called looking for an item that is sold out in a ton of places. I asked the woman (girl) who answered if they have 2 of them. She said she thinks she saw a couple of them hanging down aisle 4. I asked to check before I came down there. She puts me on hold. Someone picks up and I ask them for the item. He tells me that I reached the wrong department and hangs up.

That's all it took for me to be done with this place.

Now I'm on hold with Target.

This isn't going well.

Its really said that we can't rely on a store to help us. DH used to work in shoe store and he said when people called to ask for an item the workers would just hold down the phone for 1 minute and then say they have it. FYI-I called Target to check on an item about a month ago and the employee souned like they were on another planet and said "I think we have it". Good luck in finding it.

I've had VERY similar experiences calling stores like that. I learned that the only way to really find out if they have an item is to schlep out there and look for it yourself. The people who answer the phone don't really give a sh!t IMO

Although Walmart is notorious for stuff like this, I really feel that in this economic state customer service has gone out the window.

Employees are being treated poorly which unfortunately then trickles down to the consumer receiving poor service!

I don't only find that at Walmart, but Target and Toys R Us, and even at Walgreens the other day when I called about an RX.

Target had it. I got a human on the phone and he went down the aisle and told me there were 5 left. He even told me what aisle and exactly where I could find it.

Now, that's what I'm talking about. I should have gotten his name and written a nice letter to his boss. I know he was doing his job but he didn't even flinch when I asked him to check. Of course he would check..he would want someone to check before they schlepped down there.

I usually have a similar experience, especially in Walmart -they are never helpful when I call for anything.

I did however have a good experience, calling before store hours at Kolhs Levittown the other day, it sounded like a young guy answered and he looked for the item i was looking for, put it on hold in the back for me! I love Good Customer Service!!
