My first GROSS motherly experience
OMG! I had to drop some papers off at work, so I figured since it was so nice, I would take both kids, have lunch with my mom (she works at the same nursing home, but in a different dep't than me), and visit with my coworkers.
Then, I was gonna take them to the bluff and take some pictures, and then go to Babies R us to get some stuff. Then, we were going to my grandmas for dinner @4.
I was so excited, as it was going to be my first day out ALONE with both kids (the mall trip 2 days ago was supposed to be just me and them, but my mom and sister ended up coming). I had them in the car on time, stopped and got me and my mom coffee, and was just on time. Well, 2 minutes away from my job, I heard a funny noise and looked in the mirror, and Genevieve was PROJECTILE VOMITING ALL OVER THE CAR!
The road I was on has no shoulder and no place to pull over so I had to finish the trip (literally 2 minutes) to meet my mom and thank god she was waiting outside for me. She helped me wipe her off a little bit (her clothes were MATTED with puke), and then told me to go to her house (a minute away) and clean her up and change her, and wash her clothes and she would call my grandma (who lives across the street) to meet me there so she could watch the baby.
Well, my grandma had me go to her house instead, and cleaned Genevieve up for me, AND cleaned out the car for me, b/c Billy was screaming his head off and needed to eat. She puked around 12:30, and by 2, we tried giving her ginger ale. At 2:45, when she still didnt throw that up, we gave her some Saltines, and she was fine - running around and having fun! I actually got REALLY cute pictures of her! We ended up staying for dinner and she ate and still hasnt thrown up again, so I'm thinking its not a virus. I guess she had a tummy ache and being in the car for almost an hour must have made her sick.
But that was my day today. My worst nightmare is PUKE, and thats what I got. And there is no worse feeling than not being able to do anything but watch in the mirror while driving. I was so scared she was going to choke!
