My first day, first post. Male Infertility: Azoospermia
Hello. This is my first post on this site. My husband and I recently found out the cause of our baby making trouble is Azoospermia. We have found a great Urologist, Dr. Sheynkin who works with LI IVF. Our hope is that this dr will find sperm somehow and we will be able to move forward with IVF. I have so many questions I don't even know where to start. Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Sheynkin or Dr Keningsberg at LI IVF? Does anyone know how to go about applying for grants? Anyone have any advice on how to deal with all of this new info without losing my mind? I guess that's it for now. Thank you so much!!??

Re: My first day, first post. Male Infertility: Azoospermia
I just did my first cycle with LI IVF. I have not one bad thing to say about them. The entire staff was amazing!! I just got released from them these week and even though I am happy -I was sad to say goodbye to them! I worked with Dr. Brenner but Dr Keningsberg..did my retrieval and he was amazing! I am not too sure what Azoospermia is but the reason why my husband and I had to do IVF was MI.
If you have any questions at all -let me know!

My close friends had this issue. They used Hershlag from Notthshore. He basically had very little to no sperm so they had to extract and freeze for IVF. They have three beautiful children and loved him.

My DH has Azoospermia due to chemotherapy. Our situation is a little different because he had frozen some sperm prior to treatment, but the quality and quantity were still not very good.
A good urologist will give you options to try to help your DH produce sperm. My DH has been on clomid to raise his testosterone levels and to help him make sperm. It is also possible that your DH makes sperm, but it is unable to get out of his body (ie problem with his vas deferens or a varicocele). My DH had surgery to fix a varicocele. In the end, we were able to conceive our DS using DH's frozen sperm.
My advice is be there for your DH. Dealing with MFI was the most challenging part of my marriage thus far as my DH did not take the diagnosis well.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to FM me.

I am not sure about grants but I do see Dr. Kenigsberg in the Stonybrook office and he is, as the pp said amazing! I had a successful pregnancy in 2011 (after 3 Ivfs, 1 miscarriage) and I just came back for my 2nd. There were times when I was cycling, if he didn't feel they got a good enough Sono he would do my moniterong Sono himself. I never felt like just another patient with him. Good luck and I hope your stay is a short one!

We saw dr sheykin as well. Ii liked him a lot My husband has very low sperm count. I go to LI ivf, I like them I don't love them. But I think they do everything by the books and I will stay for that. I did 3 iui, s now onto ivf As far as the loosing your mind thing I don't know. I think I've lost mine already. I know LI ivf has counselors, I may try that Best of luck to you!
