My Grandmother passed away one year ago on Sunday

I can't believe it's a year. She died exactly one month before my son was born.

My grandfather is in the hospital now - and just wants to die so that he can be with her. He's 93 and still pretty healthy (minus this ulcer) but he doesn't care about living anymore. It sucks to get old - and it's so sad.

My question is - I want to do something nice for my dad and my aunt on Sunday. Get them some sort of remembrance of my grandmother. Do you have any ideas? For my father I would somehow like to incorporate my son into this - because my son is my father's life - and I think it would be nice.

I don't even know what type of thing I would like to do - just some small gesture to let them know we are here for them. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Diana...here's an idea...

Get a nice large frame...8x10. Get cardstock and cut it down to 8x10. On nice paper print a poem...I can try to help you find one. On the other side...Jack's handprints (or maybe footprints) and something written like "in rememberance" (is that a word Chat Icon )

Let me know if you want a poem...I'll search

That sounds like a great idea! I'll try to search some poems now. If you could find one also that would be amazing!

Ang - I found this - what do you think?

Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting from the sorrow and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing, that we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And, think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost...and she was loved so much.

I love this! Now - how the heck do I make it nicey-nice? Chat Icon
