My Kiddie Kandids experience
We went to KK for DD's first birthday pics on Tuesday. I wasn't very happy with them. The pictures came out ok. I've been to Picture People with her twice and wasn't very happy there either. The wait was always ridiculously long. I spent half my day there both times. And the last time it took them close to a month to e-mail me the pictures/upload them online. I had to keep badgering them to get them. So I decided to try KK. The pictures from Picture People came out SO much better. And I had so many more to choose from. At PP they showed me approx. 25. KK had 6 to choose from. I just felt the photographer at PP was better (both times). I'll post the pics later for you to see. I also thought KK had nice backgrounds (at least for the holiday pics which we haven't done yet). PP doesn't use as many props or backgrounds, but I do feel the pics are the focus, not the backgrounds.
Anyway, just thought I'd share since lots of us look for feedback on professional pics.

I will post the pics shortly. I went to one here in Illinois. I know you can get a different experience with different photographers. So I'm planning on trying them again. I wish I could remember how the pricing compared. Oh, another difference - PP does not even have the option of buying the CD with pictures (another reason I was going to try KK for holiday pics.)

Me too! I love the KK's in Westbury!! Never had a problem. I always get a lot of photos to choose from too, but I always talk to the girls when I go in there and get friendly with them so they give me more--lol
ETA: I can only see one pic the others have red x's but she looks adorable!!!

Another thing I don't like about KK. I had no problem posting PP pics.

Re: My Kiddie Kandids experience
Oh, and I remembered another thing that bothered me at KK. They ask you to leave your cart outside since space is tight, which I understand. But DD is all over the place and I was alone so it was really hard to concentrate on picking pics. At PP I had DD in the stroller right next to me at the computer while I picked out pics. It was so much easier/less stressful.

Re: My Kiddie Kandids experience
Sorry. I have no idea how I'm going to post these pics so you don't see red x's. I can scan the ones I bought & post them, but that will have to wait until later when I have more time.

Well I guess we know where you will be going next time!! I really think the pic's came out great, every picture place isn't going to be perfect.

I agree about no place being perfect. Actually, i will try them again. I was just sharing my experience this time. Some of the issues I mentioned will always vary with every experience. I wanted to post about the more "permanent" differences between the 2 studios. Just as an FYI.

Re: My Kiddie Kandids experience
She looks cute!
But i have to agree with you with KK and PP difference. I am so upset PP closed up, there's only 2 KK's in all of CT and the one closest to me, i am so disappointed with.
My pictures, even though props and backgrounds are limited, came out great everytime i took DD to PP, I am giving KK one more shot, then i'm done.

Re: My Kiddie Kandids experience
Ok...heres my two cents... I only do see one pics so I cant comment on the actual pics yet but heres what I did... I had asked everyone to post their 1st b-day pics from all 3 places...KK, sears and picture people. I remember seeing the 1st b-day by sears and LOVED it. So despite the fact that I love KK I am going to sears. I LOVE the B-day background and when Katie (babycote) posted her families pics with the snowy background and the sled etc... I was like "Thats where I am going" but just this time. For next time if you want to have pics a certain way, as do I, ask others to post pics so you can get an idea. Also, I go on their websites to see the backgrounds and see the props. This is actually why I know as a jewish family that just about none of the places have a single jewish background. Now I will have to bring my own props but again...its what I would want in my pics...KWIM... and I do like the one pics that I see ...but who doesnt love a cute lil' red head

I did the same thing. I have really liked all of the KK pics I've seen on here and I looked at the backgrounds on the websites of Sears and KK. I don't live close enough to JCP to use them right now. I do plan on trying Sears too because I do like what I've seen from them as well. Soon I'll have an opinion on just about every photo studio. And, I'll say it again - I know it really does vary a great deal from studio to studio depending on the staff there. But I do think some things are the same regardless. (ie: PP dos not offer a CD, but KK does.) Thanks for the advice! I totally agree with you.
