My Last Pay Check...Question
I don't have direct deposit here & we get paid on the 15th of this month. My last day is the 12th. My old co-worker says it took my current boss a few weeks after the pay date to get the check to her. So, should I tell him that I'm going to come by to pick it up on the 15th or ask if he wants to give me the check on the 12th dated for the 15th? Opinions please.

Re: My Last Pay Check...Question
From an accounting perspective, I would tell him you are going to pick it up on the 15th. To ask for the check to be post-dated could be more of a problem, especially if payroll is all done at once...

His wife does the payroll, for uhm...only me! in that case, it couldn't hurt to ask for a post dated check. worst they can do is say no. if the answer is no, be sure and let them know that you'll be coming by on the 15th to get it!

I would tell them you're going to pick it up on the 15th, that way they have it ready and can hold onto it for you. Plus you won't have to worry about getting it on time.
