My mom was in a car accident
I just got an e-mail from my step-dad, she's fine save a bump on her head, but it's her fault... and now apparently she's feeling like crap and doing this "I should have died, I don't deserve to live." stuff.
He wants me to call her and see if she'll tell me, but i don't know what to say...
Any words of wisdom I could give her?
I may wait to call till tomorrow since she may be asleep (she's battled with depression in the past, and i know how she gets... she just holds up in her room and sleeps).
And, plus, I'm a wee bit tipsy, so i don't know if this is the best time to call...
Oh, and I just go tthe e-mail now.. he sent it 3 hours ago.
ETA: if she had entered the intersection a half second earlier she could have seriously been injured... and that's scaring the crap out of me....

i know its not easy- but try not to worry about the 'could have beens'... because they didnt happen- and they didnt happen for a Reason.
I'm glad she's ok!!

No words of wisdom since I don't know your mom well enough to give it. I do agree that calling when you're tipsy isn't the best idea.

If she's really feeling down, there probably aren't any "right" words you can say to make her feel better. Just listen to her and acknowledge how she's feeling.

Okay, I did call... my step-dad had told me not to tell her that i knew.. so i didn't, i just told her was giving her a katie update... and she didn't say anything about the accident  I mean, I guess she's embarrassed... but I didn't expect her to not say anything at all... i'll be up in a week, i'm going to notice the car isn't there.
i just hope she's able to handle this.

Deb, thank God she's OK. It could've been much worse.
Hey, it wasn't right by her job, was it? My sister saw an accident right there this morning, and said it was kinda messy.

Shorty - It was in the evening actually, she had to get a bulb replaced, so she was coming home from the dealership.
I'm going to try again tonight and ask her if i could borrow her car while we're up cuz kev and i have seperate plans... We shall see...

 I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to your Mom. Thank gosh, she is okay. I think the best advice to you would be to call her and see if she is willing to talk about what happened....if not don't push her. She will talk when she is ready. I hope that she's okay......
