My Newborn at almost a month old..

Hi,

I am new at this motherhood thing..my son is going to be a month old on Friday and I just increased his feeding to 4oz..he is like clock work and still waking up at night between 3 to 3 1/2 hrs.. is that still normal and in time it will change. Just not sure if I am doing anything wrong. Once in a while he may stretch it to 4..never 5 hrs yet..

Also, lately he has been falling asleep while I am feeding him so sometime he doesn't always drink his 4 ozs..he will drink between 2 1/2 to 3..what to do? Is that normal?

That is completely normal. I always followed my boys cues. They both ate every three hours for about the first six months. I would randomly get longer stretches at night but nothing I could really count on. I also make bigger babies so that could have something to do with it.

Totally normal. Sounds exactly like my DS. CLockwork every 3 to 3.5 hours for the first 2 or 3 months then finally started going to 4 - 5 hour stretches at night.

I never thought the kid would sleep through the night, but around 5 months he was STTN so hang in there. By 6 months he was STTN 12 hours.
