My "Official" Coming out...on this board!!
I got a BFP a week and a half ago, but confirmed by blood test yesterday! DH and I are happy, but afraid to get too excited yet!!
My first appointment is on Oct 5, can't wait! But when I asked what they will do at that appointment, I was told bloodwork and in-depth family history. But no sono. Is that normal? This is my first pregnancy and I know we'd both like to see our little tadpole!
Also, need advice on a good way to tell our parents. DH's parents live here, but mine live OOT, we're going to see them the week after my first appointment!

So many new preggos.
I can't give you any advice on the sonos. I did IVF and therefore, have had about 4 sonos already at 9 weeks. They monitor us a lot closer.
Good luck at your appointment.

I had an internal sono at my first appt. I measured 7 wks 3 days. We also listened to the heart-beat Maybe it depends on the dr.
They asked a lot of medical ?s, talked about exercise, eating, medications, and some other stuff.
I have to go to a lab for blood work and was given a scrip to make an appt for a test called an ultrascreen (genetic testing).

Congrats.
At the first appointment they will ask you a lot of questions regarding your medical history and your husbands. They will tell you what you should be doing and what your should be avoiding. They also take about 8 viles of blood from you and you should get a sonogram done (or at the very least a doppler) to hear the heartbeats. I had my first appointment at 8 weeks and that is what we had done.
