My PP weight loss is stuck...

I am 5 weeks PP and the last 2 weeks I am stuck at this up 2, down 2 plateau and it won't budge. Im nursing and people said that would help but it's not budging and im tired of wearing maternity clothes, I need this last 12 pounds off, am I doing something wrong? Not eating enough calories? What are some good metabolism inducing thing I can eat?

Re: My PP weight loss is stuck...

i know you don't want to hear this but you JUST HAD A BABY! you aren't going to lose all of your weight a month after having a baby. it usually takes 9 months to take it all off. are you exercising? don't go on a real diet while BFing cause you're going to screw with your supply like i did. whoever said you lose all of your weight by BFing is lying.

this sounds a little harsh but I know you're asking around everywhere for advice. this is the only real advice i can give you. you're going to have to love your PP body just for a little bit until you have the time to exercise and get into the groove of things. if anyone else doesn't like it, f them

ITA with above poster.

I just looked at pics of myself 3/4mths post babies, Chat Icon
and I think back then I was like, ok not so bad...since I waked out of hospital dropping 25lbs and only had 10 more to go.
Looking back I was FAT!

I did eventually do something about it and im 14 months post babies, and 10lbs lighter than my pre-pg weight.

It def takes time!

It takes time Chat Icon

Even when I got back to my PP weight, my clothes didn't fit right. You should probably invest in a few pieces of larger clothing for the time being.

It took me 9 months to get back to normal after my first and 6 months with my second. Don't put so much pressure on yourself!!!! You are a new mom and I am guessing that you also aren't sleeping enough and eating right (I know I would be starving and have to eat during middle of the night feedings!).

It will happen - just give it time!

Re: My PP weight loss is stuck...

I lost all of my baby weight by running. Exercise helps tremendously!!! I eat six small meals a day! That helps. It speeds up your metabolism!!

I also love the app my fitness pal! That helped me!

I didn't lose ANY weight BF!! I hated when people said you would lose the weight from it! Some people don't. My weight didn't budge until I started working out hardcore.

Re: My PP weight loss is stuck...

I agree with the others; you just had a baby so give your body time. I also agree that exercise helps rev metabolism.

Im almost embarrassed to admit this, but my DH and I started eating dinner at 4:30-5pm everyday. It just works for us because we are both hungry at that time. (plus our DD is only 9m old so she doesnt eat with us.)

We wont eat again after that. Maybe a little frozen yogurt, but thats it. When I hit a plateau, I noticed that this started the weight loss again.

Re: My PP weight loss is stuck...

I agree with a the pp. You are in a similar boat to me bc you have 2 dc's & your home all alone with no help. It us difficult to workout under these circumstances unless you take the kids with you. I'm 14 months pp from #2 & still have 7lbs til my pre-preggo weight from both. My body is nothing like it use to be especially in the belly area & I attribute that to extra flab from the sections. I have not gotten into a true routine besides the 2 mile power walk with the kids & doing ww (recently came off the wagon).

I plan in going back to ww again starting tomorrow & want to start the C25k program next week. I know in due time I will be where I want & comfy in my body but for me its all about having time which I don't have right now.
