Wow! this reminds me of a movie i saw in film class.. the conversation...popular actor..i forget his name, but the carachter's name was Harry Caul...and theres a lot of meaning as to why he's named that. if you see the movie you'll understand.
thats an amazing story you have!

Sage was still in the amniotic sac when she was born. My water broke once her body was out. The nurses were very excited about this – apparently it’s called being born “under the veil” or “in the caul”, and it’s supposed to signify a “blessed” child who has “contact with the spirits”. That much remains to be seen… for now I’m the one who feels blessed to be her mom.
My sister was born in the caul, it is very rare. She has also been told that she will never die by drowning and that sailors used to buy the caul to ensure their safety!!

My DS Ryan was born in the caul, and he definitely has a different aura than my other kids

our birth class instructor was telling us that her baby was born in her amniotic sac as well. Very cool. I thought a caul was something different though - but I've heard that people save it

What a story. Glad it all worked out and everyone was safe and sound!!! We learned about "in the caul" in our childbirthing class and DH was obsessed with the concept of it. I can't wait to tell him I "know" someone who's child was born in the caul!
