Mylecon drops

They are for gas, right? Do they work? My pediatrician said they are a waste of money but my friend swears by them.

At what age can you start giving them?

We used them from the time she was about a month old. Our doctor said he even used them with his daughter. If she seems gassy try them for awhile. The only thing he said is they don't work if you use them once and a while you have to be consistant.

I put them right in the bottle. I don't think it's a problem to start now. It's .03 I have never given them to her orally I always put them right in the bottle!

Just a FYI I have used Mylecon, Tiny Tummies and the store brand ones and I have not found a difference in her reactions at all.

Hope they help Katie.

It's Mylicon - worked like a charm for Joseph. Tummy times & bicycling their legs also helps.

We've been using it too. It's worked for my son although i think it's caused him to have looser stools. My son is 5 weeks old.

Re: Mylecon drops

My sister swore by them with both of her kids!! They were both colicky, and the drops definately helped. Now that I am PG, I take the tablets, which really help with the gas and indigestion. As a pharmacist, I would not recommend adding them to the bottle. The medicine works by reducing the surface tension of the gas bubbles, which helps to break them up. I know that plenty of people add them to the bottle but it just makes more sense to me to give them after the feeding. After all, as adults, we wouldn't crush up the tablets and sprinkle them on our food -- we finish our meal and then chew the tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I will give them to him orally next time.
