Re: MYSTIC
Oh we went last year and had a great time. Someone on here had reccomended
Bravo Bravo Restaurant 19 E Main St Mystic, CT 06355-2654 Phone: (860) 536-3228
The food and atmosphere was fantastic! During the day we walked through town and shopped a little. At night we went to Mohegan and danced the night away. It was a great trip!
I wouldn't reccomend our hotel--it was a best western or something but we chose it b/c we brought the dog.

We have tickets to see Billy Joel Memorial Day Sunday at Mohegan Sun. We are planning on driving up Saturday afternoon, and come home on Monday sometime. We don't really have any definate plans. Walk around the seaport, DH wants to go to the aqaurium. We are staying at a small B&B.

Re: MYSTIC
I stayed at the Hilton on Coogan Blvd in Mystic - it was really nice, they had an indoor pool, restaurant/bar and (at the time) had shuttle service to one of the casinos.
In Mystic, there's the acquarium, the seaport, Olde Mystic Village with lots of shops. The only place I remember eating in the area was the Steak Loft across from the Hilton.
The casinos are about 20 minutes away.

Re: MYSTIC
We stayed at the Two Trees Inn (across from Foxwoods) once and at the Comfort in the second time and both were very nice. The Two Trees Inn had a shuttle bus (free) every hour to Foxwoods...it also had a pool and a jacuzzi We also went to the Aquarium and weren't impressed.

Re: MYSTIC
Bravo Bravo is a great restaurant! I've also been to AZU with friends who live in the area which is mainly a tapas place.

Re: MYSTIC
I ate at a great fish place right on the water (near the drawbridge) but I forget the name. It's on the seaport side, not the town side.
The aquarium is AWESOME! I love it. They have belugas! And lots of interactive exhibits.
The seaport has a lot to see. I liked the little planetarium and the boatrides a lot.
Olde Mystick Village was ok. It's really touristy. It's a made up old time village. It's not authentic. It's a little disney-ish. They have an angel store, a christmas store, Franklin's, the country store was great and had great fiudge! They also had a new age store and a hippie kind of store along with stores to buy bathing suits and vera Bradley up the wazoo!
I didn't find the town itself that interesting. Good ice cream, we saw mystic pizza. Lots of gimmicky stores, no major shopping IMO.
Mystic was worth going to, but it's a tourist trap.
I stayed at the Comfort Inn one night. It was ok. Then we stayed at another place that was closer to foxwoods, but I can't remember the name of it. We got it on hotwire for $99.
