mystic conneticut or jersey shore

has anyone been there? is it like the hamptons where you can get aplace on the water and there is stuff to do for kids? we are looking for a place to take the baby for one of the vacations that is relaxing. is the jersey shore a fun place to go? TIA

I've been to both. We used to go every year to the jersery shore. We stayed in Long Beach Island. There's lots to do for families there.

I live in CT, and I have only visited Mystic-for the museum and acquarium. It's nice, but not sure about beaches.

If you are going to be traveling up this way, for another 1/2 or so ride, go to NEWPORT, RI, beaches are great, lots to do for families. RI is about 4 hours or so from LI depending on where you live.

You have to go past where LI ends so you get the Atlantic ocean for good beaches, otherwise you will be swimming in the LI sound. Yick! I so took for granted LI's beautiful beaches since I moved to CT.

I stayed on Long Beach Island,.. Ilove it there and is Great for kids..
