nail polish that stays on

Can u recommend a nail polish that stays on your fingers even if you do the dishes (without gloves on)?

I usually do my own nails, but every nail polish i try comes off after one day.
Am i doing something wrong? is it the nail polish or application?

i do base coat, coat of color, 2nd coat of color, top coat.

Ah the age old question!
The only thing that REALLY works is a gel or shellac manicure. That stuff is not going anywhere but it's pricey and it does tend to damage your nails if you do it too much I find.

Lately I have been LOVING Zoya for a regular polish.
It stays on much longer for me than OPI or Essie.
Also, I use no base coat. I find it adheres better to a bare nail.
So just 2 coats of Zoya and then a top coat of Essie Good to Go- which dries insanely fast.

I know this sounds crazy but it works... I rub some white vinegar on my nails and let it dry before I apply the base coat. This dries out your nail beds of the natural oils, but isn't as damaging as rubbing alcohol.

Nail Polish would always just peel right off my finger less than 24 hours after i would paint them. Since I started using white vinegar they don't!

I have to try this.

Also, I swear by Zoya. Best formula I ever used.

It's funny you mention this- Essie or OPI I think, used to sell something called chips no more or something like that, that you put on before your manicure. It would dry out your nails like that to make the polish adhere. It probably was just white vinegar! LOL

This is exactly what I do when I do my nails at home. I find the Zoya lasts longer than when I get my nails done at a salon.

I started using nail polish called Vinilux when I get my nails done at the salon now. I have always had a proboem with polish not lasting more than 2 days maximum, especially dark. This Vinilux looks perfectly decent for AT LEAST 5 days. I kid you not!Chat Icon

Have any of you used Jamberry nail wraps? One of my friends just had a party and I ordered a few to try them out.

I tend to be a Zoya girl usually, but it never lasts a week for me, I'm going to try the vinegar tip for sure!

My friend just posted this on FB today, along with a picture of her nails that are 9 days old. They look like they were done yesterday! I need to try this!

This is exactly what I use and do. Manicures have bene lasting me a week. People think it's shellac.

One of my FB friends recently started selling so I purchased a few for my kids. Not a big fan. I found that they are a pain in the butt to put on...

zoya for now. I will never buy Essie again. And a coat of Deborah lipman topcoat does the trick.

Ulta has a small selection but their website has 100s of colors and types to choose from if you don't mind buying online.

I'm another loyal Zoya fan. It's the ONLY nail polish I've tried that stays on longer than a few days. I did my nails last Saturday and my manicure is still perfect- no chipping whatsoever. I also use Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat after.

Zoya by far has the best staying power for me. I use it with Nailtiques as a basecoat (I have terrible nails that peel and break easily) and I use butter London topcoat. It's expensive but really worth it IMO.

ETA: As for doing the dishes, I would get a pair of cheap dishwashing gloves. Your nail polish will last longer and your cuticles won't get dried out either.

Re: nail polish that stays on

I am surprised no one mentioned Vinylux nail polish by CND I have been using it since January

It is amazing and it lasts for over a week with out chipping. It is not a gel or shellac

You put 2 coats of polish and then the vinylux top coat. No base coat is needed.

I get over 10 days out of the polish without chipping. Most nail salons now have it
