Name dilemma... need advice...
DH and I are at a loss for names... the middle name is definately going to be Colleen for family reasons...
For first names we like Shannon and Abbigaile.
I personally like the way "Shannon Colleen" sounds together...
But my DH lost his mom last year and her name was Gail.. and I kinda like the fact that the name will represent both of the people that we lost, and loved so much... It just doesn't seem to flow as well... What do you think??
Any other suggestions??

I personally LOVE Abbigaile. You just might consider spelling it a bit simpler, like "Abigail" so she won't have to be spelling it for people all the time (at least that's what it says in my baby naming book). Also, I always have to spell my name for people, and it is a pain.
I think Abigail Colleen flows beautifully. Say it a few times with your last name. I think it's really pretty.

See thats one of the other reasons I kinda like the name Abbigaile, because we can spell it different.. LOL... I fought w/ my DH when we had our son.. his name is not spelled traditionally either.. DH and I have standard "boring" run- of the mill names.. Brian and Lauren.. lol.. I wanted our kids to have charachter... I know they're gonna hate me when it comes time to write their name but EACH name can be shortened!!! LOL
For the people that areor did vote other.. What suggestions do you have for somethign that goes with "Colleen" as a middle name? TIA

I like them all - but think based on your reasons for naming - Colleen Gail is a winner.
and I'm pretty sure your kids would have character regardless of what you name them.

I vote on naming her after his mom since it has such special meaning. I like both names but since one has meaning I vote for that one.

I love the name Abbigaile and think it's nice that it's spelled differently then the typical spelling.
I've always wanted to name a daughter Abigail because I like the name Abby as a nickname -- and I love the fact that it has family meaning for you.

ooh She better be!!! LMAO after all the m/s and heartburn, and PINK stuff-- oh yeah and ruffly butt dresses I have been buying... According to the sono.. I know theres a chance they are wrong.. but we are seriously screwed if its a boy- We couldnt decide on a name the last time!!! And already used the only one we could agree on!!!   What can I say-- we like being difficult!! I am open for any other suggestions... We are so stuck.. lol.. My mom just made me promise we weren't gonna name her Ahnastasia. (DH's pick for my son if he was a girl! ) I could deal with that promise!

You know what my vote is. I love the name abbigaile. I think aunt gail would be honnored to have her first little granddaughter named after her. I think it is just fitting and to perfect to overlook.
