Name question - would you be upset if your friend used the same name as your DC?
Personally I wouldn't. I don't know your friends, but as DH and I are thinking of girls name, we know which names to eliminate, so we don't cause issues.

I personally would never use a friends name. I take time and effort to pick a name that is different from anyone I know.
I had a family member use my son's name and the whole family was like "Why would you do that?"
It would bother me, so I wouldn't do it to anyone else.
I agree. We have big families, with a lot of kids, and we didnt even think for one second of using any of their names. Even though there were a couple of them that we really liked. We took the time to decide on on a name that we loved, and that our  wouldnt have to share with anyone (in our family, or close friends).
I personally would be annoyed if one of my close friends chose the same name as me. Even though I dont own the name, it would bother me.

Thanks for the responses. The name is not an unusual name. It is a common name so it's not like it's a name I didn't love before she used it! I appreciate all the responses!

Truthfully, I wouldn't probably wouldn't use a name that my friend already used.........but that's just me. It's not that there is anything wrong with using it, she doesn't "own" the name  , but I'm one of those people that tries to pick a name that isn't popular or common and that most people don't have. But I'm crazy that way.

I wouldn't mind at all. I would ask my friend first, but I don't see why she would have a problem with it.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd mention it to her. You don't need her permission of course, but since you're friends, IMO it'd be stranger NOT to say something.
