Names for twins - DH picks one and you pick one
Anyone else have a problem choosing names? We don't agree on anything! DH is insiting on a certain boy's name. I like the name, but don't think it goes with our last name plus it is a little too popular for me. I told him I would settle for that name if he settles for my girl name and he agreed. Is this a bad idea? Its not like we hate the other persons choice... we like but not LOVE.

OMG....we are having the SAME issue! We can't agree at all! There are a few names we like, but don't love. I have actually thought about doing the"you name one, I'll name the other" thing.... I don't think it is terrible, as long as you don't dislike the other name.

DH and I did that......we each had names we loved for DD and DS, but couldn't agree. He was set on his boys name so I agreed to it (i liked it too, just wasn't my favorite) But I agreed to it as long as he agreed to my girls name
It was way to hard for us with 2 names and loving them both......it was also hard because we both LOVED DS#1's name, so neither of us wanted to settle. In the end, we are both now totally happy with the names!!

OH BOY! we had the same issue as well. but with us, my DH was set on one name and i hated it. i just couldnt give in , even if that meant picking my favorite name for the other. so we just had to compromise on both , even if it wasnt our favorite. but now that we have them picked out we are in love with them!
oh BTW... congrats on finding out the genders!! i haven't been on lately.

I would definitely go with that....
This is slightly different but when we were naming DS my DH had naming rights for the most part. I couldnt "hate" the name but he could essentially name DS anything he wanted.
We kept our options open and continued to pour through the name books searching for something that we both loved. When all was said and done we went with his choice. I liked the name well enough...
I'll say that if you both are able to come up with a compromise and you are both comfortable with the others choice..then go with it.

we were almost EXACTLY like this...But we ended up with names that were more on my choice list. My one DD is Sydney Brooke and DH wanted her to be named Brooke....but she just looked like a sydney to me, so he compromised with making it her mdidle name.
But then again, my kids werent named till they were 2 days old

We both wanted to agree on the names, but I had to work on him for the ones I got. Eventually he gave in and now we both love the names

Jewish tradition states that you name them after someone that's passed away, or at least the first letter of their name.
We decided to combine families, he picks the first, I pick the middle and vice versa. We've basically agreed on one name but haven't really discussed a second.

Re: Names for twins - DH picks one and you pick one
We are basically doing that. We each have a name that we love. I like his choice and he likes mine - so I think we'll go with that. We both loved DD's name, so I wish we could both be completely in love with the names of the twins, but I think after they are born we'll both love each other's choices.
