Nap help please- when did dc stop taking a nap? And what is/was your 2 1/2 yr olds nap schedule?
Dd stays up ridiculously late so I am thinking of taking her nap away, but am afraid she still needs it.

Logan stopped napping daily the week before his second birthday He will nap on occasion anywhere between 3 & 4 for an hour or two, which makes for a 9:00 bedtime He's never been a sleeper, but needs it.

Dd has always been a terrible sleeper- I think If I ditch the nap she will go to bed earlier and get enough sleep which she doesn't now, but am afraid if I take it away and she still needs it it will be too late (especially at daycare).

Ugh, with my DD, it is never consistent. However, she will be 2 this month and my analysis is that a 15-20 min cat nap in the car works best for her. Without it, she rarely makes it and will pass out around 5 and then won't go to bed till 10-10:30. If she takes a full nap, it has to be early, around 11:30. But then most of the time she doesn't wake up until 8 so she is not ready for a nap that early. Our "normal" picture perfect schedule is
Wake up at 7:30
Nap at 12
Wake up from nap at 2
In bed by 8:30.
Some days it works, some days it doesn't. Good luck. I need her naps, its the only time I can work

Ava rarely takes a nap anymore, and she'll be two on Thursday. She sleeps really well at night, so I'm not concerned. The days she needs a nap, we give her one. We just take it day by day.

Jared still takes a nap and is almost 3. He will nap in the afternoon from 3-5. Then he goes to bed at 9.

I think you should keep the nap as long as possible. With the summer and more activities, hopefully she'll be worn out  My kids seem to go through phases with sleep. For example, my 10 month old was waking at 5 am for a week, now he's back to his regular schedule. Logan was up till 9-10 for two weeks, now he's back to an 8:30-9 time It seems like when both nap, they sleep better at night too.

Brianna is 2 1/2 and still takes at nap at 1:15 for about 1 hr or so.. Goes to bed at 8 and still wakes up some nights get up anywhere from 6:45 to 7:20 the latest..

I hit that same scenario with my son. When he naps, he's up past his 9 p.m. bedtime. If he doesn't nap, he's mighty hell and is falling asleep in his dinner at 6 p.m. He's impossible to get to eat, he just lays his head on the table and falls asleep  So I know he still needs a nap. At 4 years old, he still naps mostly every day, from like 3-5 and get in bed by 9...
My DD just turned two and she is still a wonderful napper. Everyday, from like 1-4 - she would nap all afternoon if I let her. She is in bed by 8-8:30.

Some days she will skip her nap or take a short nap in the car if we are out, when we are home she will nap from 3-5 and then be up most of the night (driving me crazy) she's still in our bed with us, that's the problem and its very hard for us to get her to sleep in her own bed.

Marron was 2 in April. She still naps for about 3 hours a day. She usually goes down around 1-2. Unfortunately she is then up til 9:30-10 but I know that she still needs that nap during the day. She gets up usually between 8 & 9.

DD is 2 and still naps everyday around 1:30 or 2 and I usually wake her at 4... I put her to bed at 7:30! There are days when she doesn't nap if we are out and she is fine...

Alex now naps from 2:30-4. Shoe goes to bed around 8ish & wakes around 6:30am.

Andrew is still napping for about 2 1/2 -3 hrs in the afternoon.
And then he goes to bed around 9:30 ish and wakes up at 8am.

Both my older kids lost their nap around 2 1/2. My DS just turned 2 but still naps in the afternoon for at least 1 1/2 hours, sometimes longer when he's been more active. He's up at 7am and goes to bed at 8-8:30pm I hope it continues as long as possible, I miss the naps when they are gone.

Ryan gave up his nap around his 2nd birthday. He does need one, so sometimes he falls asleep at 4 or so, which stinks because that screws up his bedtime. If I ever tried to put him in, he would fight and scream, so I just let him do his thing.

OMG! Same with Noah, the stopped napping the week before his second birthday. He still needs a nap, and will have a sleep if we are out and about in the car or the pushchair. But he won't get into bed and nap. Apparently are nursery he has a little sleep every afternoon.

Kaila is almost 2 1/2. She wakes up around 8 am and goes to bed around 9 pm. She takes a nap every day around 1 or 2 pm and it last for abut 2 hours.
I tried a few times skipping her naps but then around 5 or 6 she gets very cranky and you can just tell that she still needs her naps!

Alyson naps usually from about 2ish till anywhere between 3:30-5pm. USUALLY it's a 2 hr nap though. Depends on wake up time too....if she wakes up earlier than her 9:30/10, she'll go down earlier

DD goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up 7:30am. She still naps between 3:30 and 5pm each day!

Logan will be three the end of August. He still naps (although if we are doing something he skips it and is fine) for 2 hours a day and goes to bed about 9-9:30 (but often doesn't fall asleep until 10).

This is exactly what I did. Even now if Talia naps she is up until 10pm no matter what.
I took her nap away but I still have mandatory quiet time in the afternoon for at least an hour.
The I put her to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 and she goes down (usually) without a problem.

Rj still naps- when he dosent it is NOT pretty.
He goes to bed around 7-8 and wakes around 6 (some weekday mornings 5:30am and some weekends its more like 7)
He is exhausted by the time noon hits... He naps from 11:30/12- 2/3.
On the weekend he might go down a bit later, as long as he is up by 4- he will still go to bed by 8.
Maybe she is giving you a hard time because she is overtired????
Do you have some wind down time before putting her to bed?
