Nap Nanny?

Did anyone use/buy the Nap Nanny for their baby? Is it worth the $$$?

Re: Nap Nanny?

I forked over the $$$ & bought it- it's useless (for us anyway).
Can't believe they charge so much for a piece of foam, which is really all it is- a piece of foam with sides for support and a soft cover for it.
It's pretty much an infant seat with elevation for the legs (supposed to help w/ gas, colic, etc..), similar to the carseat position. We tried it dozens of times w/ DD#2 & she did NOT like it. Maybe if it had vibration or something it would have been better...
Now it is sitting in my closet waiting to go on eBay.Chat Icon

Re: Nap Nanny?

It seems like it would be helpful if you have a baby with reflux or colic but its pricey at $130!

Oh thanks! Im totally passing on buying this now. I figured for that price it would work miracles.

my DD LOVED it and it was the only thing she would sleep in until she was 5 months old. then when she started rolling out of it we had to transfer it INTO her crib and pray that she would eventually sleep in her crib without the nap nanny.

I look at it every time I go to BBB. I wish it wasn't so much money. I would totally buy it if it was in the $50 range!

Re: Nap Nanny?

I just want to say that I actually did buy the Nap Nanny because Luke's reflux was really bad. It is a freaking miracle worker and worth every penny. I hate that Luke is rolling now because I have to start sleeping him flat in the crib. But if you are debating on buying it, BUY IT!

Re: Nap Nanny?

Just curious- How does this differ from a carseat?

$20 or $200 if it has a chance of helping resolve something like reflux/colic I would invest and hold very hard to my recepit. If it didn't work out, I'd return it.

Re: Nap Nanny?

Sorry- but that thing looks like a huge SIDS risk. It even states right on their website that it's not to be used in a crib. So where do those things go?

Re: Nap Nanny?

My ped. actually felt the opposite about SIDS and the Nap Nanny since the baby is strapped in pretty tight. If your baby is old enough to sit up or roll around then I would say its time to retire it but when you have a newborn that is screaming with reflux, its a dream come true. Its really no different than sleeping your baby in a bouncer or car seat, except this is more comfortable and a better angle. Again, like the bouncer or car seat, you do not put it in the crib, it comes up enough to put on the floor without being on the floor.
