Napping in swing...
Hi there,
Do any of you have, or had, your babies napping in their swing during the day? And until what age? If you did, how did you make the transition to the crib? He sleeps perfectly fine at night in his crib which is good. But I think I should start putting him in his crib for naps too...
What are your thoughts on this??
Thanks! Carolyn

Re: Napping in swing...
Ava is 9 weeks old and still naps in her swing. She'll basically nap anywhere, though. When her reflux was really bad, we would put her in her swing at night, but the meds help her now with that.

Re: Napping in swing...
We had our boys napping in thier swings until they were about 8 months old. Then we started putting them in their cribs to nap.

Re: Napping in swing...
Carolyn-Jenna used to nap in the swing for hours until she was like 6 months-she always napped the best (and the longest) in the swing as opposed to the crib. She had no problems transitioning to the crib for naps though.

Danielle--that might be one of the ONLY questions I never asked you! You have been my info guide so far for everything. I'll have to ask you later how you decided to make the switch. I just didn't want to deal with a monster later who wouldn't nap in his crib.

Thanks for the post - I was wondering the same thing. DD is 9 weeks old and won't nap anywhere else.

I just started napping her in her crib but only in the mornings, she cries a bit but falls asleep but only lasts about 30 minutes... she is 5 1/2 months.

Re: Napping in swing...
I've been transitioning her into the crib for naps. Up until this week(4.5 months), that's the only place she'd nap. Don't worry, it's fine!

Re: Napping in swing...
Ella naps wherever she falls asleep - sometimes thats her swing, car seat, bouncy or bassinet (if she falls asleep while being held, we put her down)

Re: Napping in swing...
Thanks everyone!!
I had tried sometimes to have him nap in his crib, for the most part he'd wake up a lot sooner than if he were in his swing. I'm going to keep him swinging for a while! And then I'll make the transition later, hopefully then it'll go smoother. We'll see.....
THANKS!!

Just seems they feel secure in the swing. I have a fleece blanket laying over the seat and he looks so comfy!
