Napping/Sleeping question.

My mom watches my DD while I work full time, which im grateful for. But, it seems as all she does is put her down for naps. I feel like Paige sleeps a lot during the day. This morning she took a 3 hour nap and now its going on almost another 3 hours. Lately she has been waking up at 4 am, when she was sleeping through the night. My mom also makes the room dark and i think that she shouldnt do that because she could be confusing day from night.

Do you think that is too many hours to nap?

It doesn't sound like too much to me.

Steven used to nap 2 hours in the morning, 3 hours in the afternoon and 1 to 1.5 hours in the early evening. So, that amount sounds about right to me.

Hannah napped alot too at that age

2 hours in the AM
2 hours in the afternoon
1 hour late afternoon

Nap time atmosphere should be the same as night sleeping. Enjoy it Jenny Hannah is not napping AT ALL any more. I get 15 minute cat naps here and there and she wakes up at 5 am (except this morning she slept until 9!!)

Re: Napping/Sleeping question.

That dosen't sound like alot at all. They say babies grow when they are sleeping, so maybe she going on a bit of a growth spurt.

I never tried to get DD to nap in a dark room during the day. I would keep it light in there and there was always noise going on. I wanted her to learn to sleep with noise so that we didn't always have to be super quiet and she does well. She is not a big napper in the crib though she would much rather nap in her swing or rocker/chair.

Re: Napping/Sleeping question.

mine is always napping. He takes 2 each day that will run over 2 hours, then an 1.5 hour nap in the middle.
