Naptime and bedtime routine? UPDATE!

Do you do the same at nap time as you do for bedtime? Unfortunately we don't have the same naptime routine. Connor pretty much naps wherever he can. It's usually in the car if we're running around or in his highchair. (it reclines) Do you think I should put him in his crib like I would at night? I started a CIO thing the other night. I'd hate to have to go through that for naps during the day too, but I really think he should be napping in his crib. How would you go about doing this? Thanks!

ETA: Well I kept up with it and it went until 11 min. Everytime I go in there he needs me to lay him down. The last time it's like he was waiting for me to lay him down. He was more willing to. Then I had to rub his head for a second, told him it's ok, put his fish on and stood there for a couple of seconds and off he went. Did I mess it up by staying there for a few seconds? Should I have left right away? At least he's sleeping... for the moment!

Re: Naptime and bedtime routine?

We have a very similar routine. I play the same music and read DD a couple of books. Then I put her in the crib with her Aquarium crib toy on.

I also try to make sure I am home for her naps. I really do work around her schedule. If I had more than 1 child, think it would be more difficult.

DD naps in her crib...she doesn't really fall asleep anywhere else, except for the car.

Re: Naptime and bedtime routine?

Bella naps in her crib. She can only really stand to be awake for 2 hours/ 2 and a half hours at a time. So around that time I look for the tired signs. Then, I bring her to her crib, pat her hair and put on her aquarium. Tell her good nappies and off I go. She'll usually roll around for a while and then go out.

Re: Naptime and bedtime routine?

I have Connor in the crib now for a nap and he's just crying and crying! Chat Icon I started leaving for only 5 min. and then increasing it by 2 minutes. Then I'll go in there lay him back down tell him naptime and put his aquarium on. He seems ok until I leave. So far we're working on 11 minutes now. I feel so bad but he really needs to be napping in his crib. Chat Icon Should I go to him and just forget about it or should I keep going?
