nasal aspirater probable a silly question

It sounds like my dd has a cold, so i put saline drops in her nose and use the aspirator. How do i know if im doing it right? Should i hear something or whne i take out of her nose should stuff be inside the aspirator?

I sometimes hear a sucking sound but nothing in aspirator.

The hospital described it to me as you squirt the saline in there and then the aspirator far enough to create a seal. You should hear the mucuous suctioning into the bulb unless it's way up in their head. But if they have a runny nose you should get some good stuff

My aspirator has a clear tip so you can see all that lovely stuff coming out
It's kind of weak though so sometimes I'll use the one that the hospital gave us which has good su cking power
Then I'll blow it onto a tissue to clean it out.

I have an electronic aspirator and it works wonderful!!
