Nassau Coliseum question

DH has to pick me up from tonight's Idol concert at the Coliseum since I'm taking the train there from NYC.
Where is a good meeting place for him to pick me up? Will it be awful for him to get me at the Coliseum? Should we meet at the Marriott? Any suggestions?

Re: Nassau Coliseum question

Id meet at the marriott or have him wait across the street. With all the people trying to get out im not sure he'd have an easy time getting in. Unless he goes pretty early before the concert is over.

Thanks for the response. Is there a specific place I can have him wait for me across the street? I haven't been over there in a while so I'm not sure what's around there!

Re: Nassau Coliseum question

Dana, you are NOT walking across Hempstead Turnpike at night by yourself....to stand in front of a closed building...
Tell Jared to pick you up at the Marriott....

ummmm really its not bad Chat Icon The actually have cops directing traffic on hempstead tpke. So calm yourself there! I also mentioned Starbucks. I know lots of people park at the marriot so they don't have to pay for parking and it's not east to get in or out also. Thats why I mentioned across the street

ETA the part of the fence thats open at the marriott is dark and on the side of the building a little bit shady. Reckson sometimes has a security gaurd in the booth at the parking lot.

Please don't tell me to calm down, Dana is one of my oldest friends and I really would rather her DH be inconvenienced a little to get into the Marriott then have her cross a main thoroughfare at night by herself.
Did you miss the story about the deadly accident at the circus a few weeks ago?
Why chance it?
And yes, the neighborhood can be that bad.
And if it's dark at the Marriott, have him use his press pass or whatever it is to get closer to the Coliseum. Getting in won't be so bad, everyone will still be inside. So what, you wait a few to get out, it's usually not that bad.....

I must have been in Hawaii so yes I did miss that story.

Parts of Manhattan are worse and I would cross the street there no problem.

Dana are you going with friends or by yourself? Maybe one of them can wait with you?

ETA I had no idea he had a press pass.

Thanks G! I already told him to just meet us at the Marriott (Nancy coming with). He's never been there before either and I'm sure once he gets there he won't be crazy about us venturing across Hempsead Tpke either!

Who cares about Manhattan, and who cares about Hawaii, we are talking about 2 ladies crossing Hempstead Turnpike at night by themselves.....
All in all, not a good idea.....

Not going to continue the discussion but I will say I'd have no problem doing it not sure why it's such a big deal but whatever.

Have a great time at the concert! Sorry I answered your question incorrectly!
