National Grid
I look at my bill. I see a $25 non access charge on it. I call to see why no one has knocked on my door for access. They tell me someone was out there on June 17th looking for access at 7:40 in the freakin morning. Then again before that in April at 7:25 in the morning. I AM ASLEEP FOLKS. I am LIVID. Come sometime when people are AWAKE.
The person I spoke with on the phone tells me I need to make an appointment for them to read the meter. Turns out they start doing that at 9AM

Re: National Grid
So, they start appts at 9am but are billing you for a 7:45 appt that they claim no one was available for?
I still have put a call into them.
The bill I received this month is a minus and I am not on balanced billing.
This happen to anyone else?

Re: National Grid
I have never had this happen. We are never home when they come to read the meter - they come during the day when we are both at work, what are we supposed to do? Take off a day of work so they can come for two minutes?

if your meter is outside, they did not need to come into your home to read the meter. The OP might have the meter inside the house, therefore they need to come in to read it.
Ours is in our backyard, right behind the fence

Re: National Grid
your meters are probably outside where they can read them. UNLESS you have a dog and do not allow access.

Mine is inside too. Is there a hidden charge I am missing?
