It's just the name of a huge conglomerate which distributes energy to much of the NorthEast, under which Keyspan falls.

Thank you. Why would I care about that? Just curious because they keep saying this on my bill and on their commercial.

Yup - remember the blackout a few summers ago? That touched so many areas including ours...all because we are on the "grid" I think the problem originiated in Ohio and since we are all together on the grid we went down too.

All I know is for me this means $. I was given NGG (National Grid) stocks as a baby by my uncle, who used to live upstate where the power plant was. It used to be called Niagara Mowhawk all these years, then they were bought out by National grid, which just also joined with Keyspan.
So I have seen stocks rise from 20 a share to over 84 a share. I can't complain! Hoping they keep going up and up!

National Grid bought Keyspan. They are probably changing their name to National Grid.
