nausea lightheaded and just out of sorts after drinking ..UPDATED.

the glucose drink for the one hr

I didn't feel this way when I did the one hr for my dd so im not sure if this is normal or is it possible that i failed the test

so my question is for those that DID fail the one hr did you feel these symptoms after drinking the drink? AND anyone else feel these symptoms and NOT fail the one hr?

ETA: JUST GOT MY RESULTS BACK FROM THE ONE HOUR THAT i THOUGHT i FAILED BC OF THESE LISTED SYMPTOMS AND i PASSED! SO THANK YOU GIRLS THAT REPLIED ON THIS POST FOR REASURRANCE ETC

its funny because i did actually feel like this after the 1 hr. i took a nap and never woke up for like 6 hours and when i did wake up, i felt like i got hit by a truck and i was shaking and stuff. i got so nervous. i felt like maybe i crashed. i failed that test. then when i went for the 3 hr, i was fine and i passed. so weird...

I find out on monday if I passed or failed, but I really doubt there being a correlation between failing/passing and feeling as you did. I just think that our bodies react differently. It spikes your sugar level, so maybe it reacted with what you ate that day, or didnt eat?

Did you fast? I was told I didnt have to, I just watched what I ate that day.

I will say that I did feel a bit off after drinking it. I had TERRIBLE indegestion and my right temple was pounding/twitchy a bit. DH said the glucose drink has a lot of citric acid, which was probably why I got the indegestion.

I felt fine after the test and failed, so maybe it's a good thing that you felt sick afterwards! Good luck!

I took the glucose test very early on in my pregnancy(don't know why I had to take it so early) and I was fine. I just took it again at 25 weeks and this time I felt a little weird and lightheaded. I passed the test, but my iron level came back a little low so maybe thats why I was lightheaded.

I took the 2 hour twice, once at 3 months and once at 7 (due to a strong family history of GD) Anyhow, the first time I got very lightheaded and that lasted about 30min. The second time, I waited so long before they even took my fasting blood that by the time I got the drink I was STARVING...I got sooooooo sick that 1. I almost couldn't finish the drink and 2. I almost threw up the entire bottle and almost passed out in the office. It was TERRIBLE...good think DH came with me. But with that said, I passed both times!

thats how I felt...I actually threw up a little right after...I passed...I don't even think I was close to failing.

Ii felt like throwing up a gew hours after. idk if i passed but my sister who did it like 2 months before me said she experienced similar and passed and that sometimes that can happen (she is RN)

I remember having a bad headache afterwards. Mainly from the sugar shock.
