NC Girls- In what areas should we look at to build our new home in NC?

I am kind of fixated on Wake Forest. Any other areas that we should look at?
We are looking for:
GREAT SCHOOLS
Safe areas
Great developments- pools, playgrounds, family-oriented
Near recreation/ malls
Suburbs- but near RTP

Thanks so much!Chat Icon

that area is beautiful!
Its your house silly where do YOU want to build it?
Search areas in the Triad and look on greatschools.net for schools in the area.

I don't live in NC, but my best friend used to live in Wilmington. It was gorgeous and close to the beach, which is beautiful there. Check it out.

I am fixated on Apex area. There's Morrisville and west Cary right there as well. Apex has great schools as well as the other town's I mentioned. My favorite it Apex though. Do not move to Durham, Raleigh though N. Raleigh isn't bad, I've lived there too. Apex has a GREAT wooden park I just took my kids to last weekend when it was in the low 80's! Chat Icon Tons, I mean tons of shopping here too! You have everything.

Just so you know, they are doing A LOT of reassignments here with the schools. So many people are ****** off because they bought a house or had one built in a certain area because of the schools and now they're kids are being shipped 1/2 hour away and they're stuck on the bus for over an hour each way. They're doing it to be diversified. There's a lot of contraversy over this here.

Anyway, Apex area is my favorite down here. I used to live in Wake Forest but that was years ago and it wasn't that built up then. It was just starting, but my mom said it's very built up now.

If you have anymore questions let me know!!!

Oh... Wake Forest isn't that close to the RTP, FYI!!!

Your mom emailed me with some GREAT info. I thanked her, but I'll thank you as well!!Chat Icon

How far is Wake Forest from the RTP?

Do the kids HAVE to take the bus? Can I drive my children to school? When will the reassignments be finalized? I will be PIZZED if I built my house in a certain area for a certain school, and then he is reassigned!Chat Icon

How large is Apex? I ask this because isn't there a landfill there or something? I thought I remember hearing something about that on the news.

Told you I don't know anything about NC!Chat Icon I'm sure your mom will educate us!
