Necessary Gear

What are the most helpful baby items that I must have? I gave everything away before this pregnancy, and this is most likely my last baby, so I don't want to go crazy. I have our crib, cosleeper, ergo carrier, and snap and go still. I'll buy a new car seat when I get closer, but what other gear do you suggest? Thanks!

Re: Necessary Gear

Rock and Play was great for sleeping in the beginning- especially if they have reflux

Swaddles

I loved my diaper genie too

Snap and Go for the car seat

Rock and Play (but TBH I wish I hadn't done this because I believe it's the root of our poor sleep habits now)

Some type of vibrating chair or swing

Bouncer/activity jumper

YES! This! While the RNP saved us when our twins were born, it created the worst sleep habits which still continue now at 3 yrs old.
I'm expecting again and I do not plan on getting one. I'm going to try a bedside bassinet for the newborn stage and then go right to the crib

I agree with others on the pack and play. The boppy was very useful, a bouncer and/or swing. My girls didn't like the 4 moms swing so I'll go a different route this time.

Necessary Gear

I used a rock and play for all of my kids but have never had them sleep in it (maybe a nap, not overnight). Just a place to put them when I’m showering, cooking, cleaning, helping my older kids...plus it folds flat and can be transported so easily when going to someone else’s house.

You think I need a bouncer and a swing? My other girls didn't like the swing so I don't have any love for it, but maybe they have gotten better since my last one!

Depends on the baby. Some love the swing, some hate it.
We were able to borrow a swing from my SIL to try it.
DD was eh about it. She didn't hate it, but it didn't really soothe her much either. I'm glad I didn't buy it myself, but I did want to try it because she was so colic and fussy I wanted to try anything

For me the swing was amazing for the first 5 months or so. Got both kids to nap every morning so i could shower and stuff. My first didn't like the bouncer much so I got rid off that quickly. I would opt for the swing (love the snugabunny) and rock n play.

We never used a bouncer with my DD, just the swing.

My last 2 really loved the swing more than the 1st 2. DS 4 - used the swing unitl 6 or 7 months - Fisher Price Snug a bunny.
Each kid is dfferent.
