Neck/back pain
Is it normal to wake up with neck pain and back pain a lot? No matter how I sleep I always manage to wake up with a stiff neck. I even have a body pillow but nothing seems to help. Do any of you have this problem?

Re: Neck/back pain
My lower back has been killing me for about a week now but I'm a bit further along than you. I'm going to ask the doctor about it today at my appointment. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to sleep or find any sort of comfortable position. I think it's because I was always a stomach sleeper and I obviously can't sleep on my stomach anymore (I could until about 22 weeks, though...).
Maybe you need to use two pillows or change the firmness of your pillows? I use two very mushy pillows for my head and haven't had any neck pain, but my lower back is just awful.

Re: Neck/back pain
Totally normal Kris
Your body is carrying more weight in the front and needs to adjust- I found prenatal yoga to be a godsend- if you want I can pop the DVD I was using in the mail for you

Re: Neck/back pain
I have had such bad neck pain since I got my BFP. I'm not sure there is a correlation?

Thanks girls. It's also very hard for me to get comfortable at night. Im constantly in pain. I never though about th extra weight causing problems but I'm only 10 lbs up so I'm not so sure. I'm definitely bringing this up to my doctor at my next appointment.

its because of how the weight distributes- when you gain under normal circumstances, it spreads more evenly- now its all going to your stomach & boobs

Last night i cried and made DH rub my back until i fell asleep because i was so uncomfortable. I haven't had any neck issues but my back hurts, my hips hurt when i lay on one side for too long, my belly is too big, it's so hard to turn over and it is just so hard to get comfy. I use 1 pillow for in between my legs and under my belly and then i have another pillow tucked behind me. It's all becuase of the weight distribution. Your body is not used to this.
