Need a "brown sauce" receipe like from Beef & Broccli
I want to make a stir fry for dinner-using shrimp; broccli and some other vegies.
My Fiance does not eat meat so i can't use beef or chicken broths. Some recipes online have called for those...can i subsitute with vegetable broth? Will it taste good? LOL!
Anyone have any good stir fry sauce receipes?
TIA!

I have a recipe I cut from a magazine once that makes a stir-fry sauce. It's not quite like brown sauce from Chinese, but it's good.
Here's the recipe. You could defintely adapt and not use the chicken breasts.
3 chicken breasts 1 tbsp plus 4 tsp cornstarch, divided 1 small onion, sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 3 tbsp vegetable oil 1 package frozen veggies 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp soy sauce 8 oz vermicelli
Cut chicken into thin strips; coat with 1 tbsp cornstarch. Stir-fry with onion and garlic in hot oil 3 minutes. Add frozen vegetables; stir-fry 2 to 3 minutes until heated. Combine 2/3 cup water, soy sauce, and 4 teaspoons cornstarch; stir into chicken mixture. Cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens. Add vermicelli, toss to combine.
