Need a good laugh? The babysitting note I actually left
ETA: This was from last year. I was cleaning out "My Documents" and found it and was hysterical. To my mom and sister for a 24 hour getaway.
Here goes...
Thank you guys for taking care of Sydnie. This should get you through the 24 hours HAHAHAHAHAHA. I know, my OCD is in major effect here. But anyway…
Saturday -Dinner between 5-6 p.m. Jar of Sweet Potatoes & Chicken and plastic container of Peas
-Bedtime around 7 p.m. Microwave the 8 oz bottle for 20 seconds. Bring bottle into bedroom. Keep lights dim. Change diaper and put on white tank onesie (on closet shelf) to sleep in. Put on the fishy. Let her hold blanket and Mr. Snuggie while you feed her in the glider. She should fall asleep by 7:45. If she’s babbling, that’s OK. If she cries wait about 3-5 minutes before going in but listen in case she vomits/chokes.
-Mid-Night Feeding somewhere between 3-5 a.m. Get her a 5 oz bottle first, go change her (keep lights off/dim), feed her. Don’t talk, sing, etc. Lay her right back down. She should go right back to sleep.
Sunday -Wake around 7 a.m. -Morning Routine- Diaper change. Then we usually play on the LR floor for about 30 minutes. Then I put the TV on (123 or 131) and put her in her walker. I go make a 5 oz Bottle with 1 oz of prune juice added. Heat for about 20 seconds.
-Breakfast around 8:30-9:00 a.m. Large Jar of Oatmeal, Apples & Cinammon. If she doesn’t like it and you want to, you can make her French Toast. I scramble 1 egg, dip 1 slice of whole wheat bread, spray the pan with Pam and cook thoroughly. Just break it into small pieces and let her self feed. After breakfast a walk is always nice. ? It lets her digest and relax.
-Naptime between 10-11 a.m. Snacks are always OK at any time. Cheerios are fine and she can have up to 10 of those cheese doodle like things. Puffs are also fine. I also left out a plastic container of sweet potatoes which she loves and you can offer her whenever as well as a jar of whole wheat pasta with vegetables for lunch in case we are not back yet and she’s hungry. We’ll probably be home around noon. I will call you in the morning. Or periodically throughout these 24 hours. If ANYTHING is in question DO NOT hesitate to call me. My phone will be on LOUD during the entire time I am away. *wink wink* Thank you again. We know we have nothing to worry about.
Love you, Annie

I don't know, but it looks like the notes I leave for MIL who sits for DS one day a week. Except I also leave notes for her like "Help yourself to chicken, pizza, yogurt, or cereal; I made you a mug w/ your kind of coffee in it..."
Syd still wakes for a middle of the night bottle? to you!

I didn't think the OCD was weird, but I was like she still wakes at 2? she eats jarred food? and they make their own french toast (I settle for frozen)

Re: Need a good laugh? The babysitting note I actually left
When I was in the hospital giving birth to DD my parents stayed here with DS so DH could be with me. I think my note was 4 or 5 pages long. My mom was astonished but told me that everything she needed was in that letter.

Re: Need a good laugh? The babysitting note I actually left
I was on my way to the hospital in severe pain from a gall stone attack, and I left a note this this for my mom (who lives with us, so is therefore fully aware of DS's routine). I'm. OCD like that too lol.

Umm... yeah -- i leave notes like this for my mom and SIL who watch Hailey regularly! I actually just found out that people in my fam all think I am crazy and all laugh about my OCD, Type A behavior behind my back, but whatever -- it makes me feel better by making sure all is well at home!

Re: Need a good laugh? The babysitting note I actually left
You should see the "loose" schedule I have typed out for whoever watches out girls when/if I go into labor. Complete with flowcharts and complenting food lists.
DH was like, "If this is a loose schedule, I'd hate to see a tight one."
