Sugar Cookies
Yield: 6 dozen
Oven: 325°F
2 cups Butter
2 cups Sugar
3 Eggs
1 cup Sour Cream
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
3/4 teaspoon Salt
6 cups Flour
Cream Sugar and Butter
Mix in all other ingredients
Cover and chill overnight (minimum 2 or 3 hours - it's easier to work with the dough when it's cold)
Roll out on floured surface to about 1/4" thick, cutout cookies with cookie cutters
Bake 12 minutes at 325°F
Note: If you're not going to ice the cookies, sprinkle them with sugar before baking.

Homemade Icing
1 cup Confectionery Sugar
4 Tablespoons Soft Butter (Not Melted!)
1 tsp Vanilla
1-2 Tablespoons milk - just enough to bring to spreading consistency
Mix until creamy, being cautious with the amount of milk to avoid making the icing too runny
Add food coloring if desired.

It will take 2 or 3 batches of the icing to ice all 6 dozen of the sugar cookies. If your icing comes out too soft you can try refridgerating it for a few minutes, or add some more butter and conf. sugar.
