Re: Need a great Suffolk OB..
My OB is wonderful and is not in Hauppauge but in East Setauket. The practice is called Three Village Women's Health and I see Dr. Davenport. It is a great practice and I know a few people that have had great experiences with them. They only deliver at Stony Brook FYI.

I have a completely different view of Suffolk OBGYN, I hate them.
I do think Dr. Strittmatter is amazing, but there are also 15 other dr's in the practice and they have 4 different offices.
I'm thinking about switching to Stony Brook Midwives.

Re: Need a great Suffolk OB..
Thanks everyone! I had heard about Three Village and was thinking of giving them a try.. now I think I definitely will. My regular doctor is in East Setauket right now too.. not sure if I will be staying there though.. I dont LOVE them. How many doctors are at Three Village? How many are female? Do you get to choose who you see each time? How's the wait there? Is it easy to get an appointment?
TIA girls, youre the best!

Well I have only been to regular check ups thus far. My first pregnancy visit it 11/11. I have had no problem making appointments. I usually do not have to wait that long maybe 15- 20 min unless there is an emergency. I always saw Dr. Davenport (female) who is my doctor. Now I will have to see all of the doctors so I will let you know how they are. There are 4 female docs and 2 male docs.
Here is a link to their website.

She is part of Obstetrics and Gynecological Specialists. They have an office in Stonybrook and one in the medical building at St. Catherines.

Re: Need a great Suffolk OB..
I used to go to Dr. Lance Edwards at the Suffolk OBGYN in Patchogue. He was absolutely the best doctor I have ever been to in my life.
Unfortunately I had to move to CT for work. When I first moved up here I was still going to him. He is affiliated with St Charles, Mather and Stony Brook hospitals. I like my doctor up here in CT, but I really miss Dr. Edwards.
Plus his name always sounded like a super hero to me...

Yes I mentioned that in my first post.
Can I ask why you don't want to deliver at SB?

Re: Need a great Suffolk OB..
Dr. Rubin at Contemporary Women's care in Smithtown. Right now there are two women and one man in the practice. The only issue I have with them at the moment is that since one of the doctors left, they are sharing off hours with another practice, so there is a possibility I could deliver with a doctor I have never met. But since you are not pregnant yet, I don't think this needs to be a concern. I'm sure they will have a new dr. in the next few months. I love all the doctors that are there though, I highly recommend them.

no reason really.. just have never been there before.. and was hoping for more options than just 1 hospital.

FM me if you would like more specifics on SB. I know a great deal about the hospital.
