Need a new oil burner service...looking for any recommendations
Anyone recommendations?
We are not happy with General, today I called for service because there are fumes all over our house and we have an infant...but they don't consider it an emergency, because we have heat...however, they recommend I turn off the burner (which means we have no heat)..but still, not an emergency to them.
Besides this incident, we've had problems with their service in the past.
HOpefully, someone will be here soon....

We have Lewis and I have to say - we had no hot water a few weeks ago and when we called they said they weren't sure when the man would get to us cuz people with no heat came first. The guy showed up less than an hour later and cleaned and service both the oil burner and the hot water heater. We have the Platinum Package with Lewis which was $75.00/ year.

We use General and are happy with them so far so I'm sorry to hear that you're having those problems.
My parents have been using Petro for years and have always been happy w/their service.

We use Perrillo and we are NOT happy with them either. I have called for service twice this heating season and they didn't come until the very very end of the day and we were without heat all day both times. I DO NOT recommend them.
I'd love to hear what other people's recs are...

OK...General arrived in record time! And this time, they sent someone who really knows his stuff. So, the problem is that we have ZERO updraft from our fireplace chimney...which is really upsetting since 4 days ago, we had a new chimney company evaluate our chimney and install a new cap and new damper.....
the oil company guy showed me a huge hole in our chimney liner which is causing all the fumes to be pushed back into our house. HOW DID THE CHIMNEY COMPANY NOT SEE THIS?
OK..now I need recommendations for a new chimney service for when we get our annual service. What a day!

We have Petro and they have been wonderful so far with their service. We had them come a few weeks ago to service our furnance and our guys sat down with us and reviewed every thing he did and then explained how best to heat the house and answered all our questions.

You may have a problem with the chimney company...they have been known to do things like punch a hole in the liner so you have to replace it. Does the hole look new? I don't really have any recommendations on chimney companys...I have heard that most are shady.

I don't trust Chimney Companies at all.
But I will recommend Perillo. I've used them for 4 years and they have come at 1am in an emergency!

Re: Need a new oil burner service...looking for any recommendations
Thanks for that info about chimney companies...I actually called the company to come back, they did...and they didn't know how to fix it!!!!
Unbelievable!!!!
So, I have chimney doctor on the way, he was recommended by a few people that I contacted this morning....i'll let you know how it goes.
Let's just hope the pipes don't freeze in the meantime (I've now been without heat for 2 hours)
