Mine is broken again. I so need a great vacuum that I don't need to replace every 12 months. Does anyone have any great recommendations. Thanks so much

I have a Dyson, and honestly, don't love it anymore. I find it needs time to "warm up," meaning, the first room I do I have to do really slowly or do twice; after that, it works great. But I didn't spend $$$ on this thing to have to coax it into working well. My mother just bought a Bissell (don't know the model), and she LOVES it. Of course, she doesn't have cat hair...

I don't know if this helped, but maybe gave you another view of a Dyson at least.

I have a Dyson, I received it as a bridal shower gift, I absolutely love it! My house is currently under construction and the dyson picks up everything & helps control the amount of dust in my home. I highly recommend the Dyson Ball because it is easy to manuever around furniture and other obstacles.

Me three! I have the white Kenmore canister. The difference in the Kenmore canister vacs (different colors) is usually the length of the hose. I forget how long this one is but it works fine, 7 feet maybe? reasonably priced too. I know so many people that have one, I see them at other people's houses all the time. If you don't want to spend $$$$ on a vacuum, this is the one to get IMO.

Me four! I love my Kenmore. I have the white one too. The hose is a little longer. We had other vacuums that crapped out on us but the Kenmore has been great so far!

Re: NEED a vacuum recommendation

After MONTHS of agonizing research I wound up with the Kenmore Intelliclean. If a person could be in love with a vaccuum...I am with this. I have killed several before this one, but I am hoping this baby stands the test of time. I wanted a really good one because now with a baby, you just get skeeved by things that didnt botrher you before. I have a cat and dog, and smelly husband, and could not be happier. I have the bagless one.

Rated #1 by consumer reports, can get for 250 on sale.Chat Icon

Liz, get an Oreck! i LOVE mine! Durable, great warranty & year maintenance covered at any Oreck location. It's light too, so you can move it up & down stairs easily.

I love my Dyson, its really hard to clean the gunk out of the bottom where the brush is, and it really does need to be cleaned out to keep it sucking at full potential Chat Icon
