Need advice - first time home buyer
DH and I are going to a mortgage broker tomorrow to get pre approved (fingers crossed)!!
Any advice on what we should be asking?

I would definitely ask if they charge any broker fees. Sometimes the mortgage brokers can charge as much as 3% of the loan. Some don't charge. But definitely ask that and check the fine print...

Also, remember that what you get approved for may not be what you'd want to spend on a home.
We spent 100 grand less than what we were approved for, and so happy we did.
They will never ask you, "Hey, how many vacations do you like to take a year?" or "Do you like to shop often?"
If we had went by the number they approved us for (at the max), we'd be working just to live in a house and nothing else.
