Need Advice for newborn daytime napping(8 week old)

So my DD has always fallen asleep for nap during breastfeeding. Most times I let her sleep on me or put her in her swing asleep for naps in her first few weeks. Now that she is 8 weeks old, she is more awake and is no longer falling asleep with feedings.

My problem is that I can't get her to nap without putting her in the swing. She will stay awake for about an hour to an hour and a half after eating then I see that she is getting drowsy. I try to lay her down in her pack n play, crib, with pacifier, with swaddle(all different combinations) and she will not fall asleep! I eventually have to put her in the swing and she goes right out.

I really want her to learn to nap in other places. Is this a big deal at 8 weeks, or will she eventually learn as she gets older?

What do you do for your DC naps during the day?

my DD is 6 weeks old and she naps in her swing... sometimes i can get her to nap in her bouncy with the vibrate on, but otherwise its the swing.

at night time she does sleep in her bassinet.

sorry i am not much but i don't see a problem with them napping in the swing all the time.

my DS lived in his swing until he was about 7 months old

My babies napped in the swing for a long time. DD started napping in the crib around 5 months, DS started around 5.5-6 months.

DS napped in the swing for a long time. He always took his best naps in there and it was the only way I could get a break from holding him during the newborn stage.

Glad to hear that I'm not totally off base! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. Was just thinking about when she goes to daycare around 6 months if she will have trouble napping there. But it sounds like I have some time for her to learn to like the crib!

DS napped in the swing, my arms or the car seat/snap n go until he went to daycare at 3.5 months old. I couldn't get him in the crib at home. It took a little time, but he naps in the crib at daycare. He doesn't nap nearly as long as he does at home, but at least they got him in the crib.
